Naive Robber Gets Sloppy After Using Toy Gun To Rob (See How It Ended)

A would-be robber who tried to hold up a bank with a toy gun is fighting for his life after he was shot at point blank range by an armed security guard. His accomplice managed to escape despite also being shot at through the bank's toughened glass windows. The shooting was caught on security CCTV footage at a bank in Lucas do Rio Verde, Brazil.

The crook, named as 20-year-old Robson Junior Jardim dos Santos, walked into the branch and pulled out his toy handgun.

The attempted robbery was caught on camera, with footage showing the thief grappling with the guard.

In the film, Santos' plastic gun can be seen falling to the floor, where it shatters into several pieces.
When the guard realises the gun is a fake, he hurls Santos to the floor.

At the same time, an accomplice runs to Santos' aid from outside in the street and the guard - Valter de Mello - shoots at him twice through the bank's toughened glass windows.

Santos then runs to the bank's revolving security door to try to make his escape, and is shot three times as he tries to flee, with shattered glass flying all around him.

Terrified, he squats with his hands on his head waiting to be arrested.

Local media reports say he was shot twice in the abdomen and further wounded when one bullet clipped his ear.

He is said to be severely injured, and is being treated at Sao Lucas Hospital where he underwent an emergency operation.

His accomplice is still at large.
